Terms & Conditions (UK Online Directory)

Last updated: 01 March 2026

1. About us

1.1. This website and online directory (the “Site”) is operated by Chasing Your Tail (“we/us/our”).
1.2. Contact details:

  • Email: hello@chasingyourtail.co.uk
  • Address: Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire

2. These Terms

2.1. These Terms apply to:

  • people browsing the Site (“Visitors”);
  • people with a user account (“Users”); and
  • businesses/organisations who create or manage listings (“Businesses”).
    2.2. By using the Site, creating an account, submitting content, or managing a listing, you agree to these Terms.

3. What we provide (and what we don’t)

3.1. We provide an online directory so visitors/users can find businesses and contact them directly using details shown on listings.
3.2. We are not a party to any contract between a User/Visitor and a Business. Any booking, purchase, service, payment, cancellation, complaint, or dispute is between the user and the Business.
3.3. We may carry out basic checks to confirm a Business appears to exist. However, we do not vet Businesses for qualifications, licences, insurance, regulatory compliance, safety standards, or service quality, and we do not guarantee accuracy or outcomes.
3.4. You are responsible for doing your own checks before engaging a Business.

4. Eligibility and accounts

4.1. You must be 18 or over to create an account or submit/manage a listing.
4.2. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4.3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity on your account.

5. Listings and content standards

5.1. Businesses are responsible for all listing content including descriptions, claims, pricing, photos, categories, contact details, and any statements made in a listing.
5.2. You must not post content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, threatening, or that infringes any intellectual property rights.
5.3. You must not upload malware, spam, or content designed to disrupt the Site.
5.4. We may edit, refuse, suspend, or remove any content or listing at our discretion (including for safety, quality, legal, or compliance reasons), and we may request evidence to support claims you make in a listing.

6. Reviews

6.1. Reviews are not available at launch. We may introduce reviews in the future.
6.2. If reviews are enabled, by posting a review you agree that it must be genuine, honest, and based on a real experience. You must not include personal data about other individuals (e.g., addresses, phone numbers) or post unlawful/defamatory content.
6.3. We may moderate, remove, or disable reviews at our discretion. Reviews represent the reviewer’s opinion and do not reflect our views.

7. Intellectual property and permissions

7.1. The Site, branding, layout, and databases are owned by or licensed to us.
7.2. You keep ownership of content you upload, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, use, display, reproduce and distribute that content for operating and promoting the directory (including on our social media channels) unless you withdraw permission, where applicable.
7.3. You confirm you have the rights to upload and share any content you submit.

8. Paid listings

8.1. Listings/accounts at/during the launch phase will be introduced free of charge. Paid plans, subscriptions or fees may be introduced in the future.
8.2. If paid plans are introduced, details of pricing, billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds will be provided at the point of purchase and will form part of these Terms. Where a listing is not renewed by the deadline, we may suspend the listing or remove it from public view.

9. Acceptable use

9.1. You must not:

  • scrape, harvest, or copy directory data using automated means without our written permission;
  • interfere with Site security or performance;
  • attempt unauthorised access to accounts or systems; or
  • use the Site to send unsolicited marketing messages/spam.

10. Availability and changes

10.1. We aim to keep the Site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
10.2. We may change or update features for legal, security, or operational reasons. If you are on a paid plan and a change materially reduces the core paid service, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and offer an appropriate remedy (for example, a pro-rata credit or refund for the affected period).
10.3. If we cease operating the Site or withdraw paid listing services during a paid subscription term, we will refund the unused portion of the subscription on a pro-rata basis.

11. Liability

11.1. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law.
11.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • any dealings, contracts, losses, or disputes between Users/Visitors and Businesses;
  • inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading listing content supplied by Businesses; or
  • indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profits, goodwill, or business).
    11.3. Where we are liable to you, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid to us for the relevant paid service in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. This does not affect any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

12. Indemnity

12.1. You agree to indemnify us against losses, claims, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your content (including claims that your content is unlawful or infringes rights).

13. Complaints and takedowns

13.1. If you believe content on the Site is unlawful, infringes rights, or is otherwise inappropriate, contact hello@chasingyourtail.co.uk with details and evidence. We may remove content while we investigate.

14. Privacy

14.1. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data and how cookies/trackers are used.

15. Governing law

15.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction (unless mandatory consumer rules require otherwise).
